Who We Are
Franciscan Passages is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to teaching people of all ages and backgrounds about Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Clare of Assisi.
The writings of Francis, Clare, their companions and followers form the foundation of our custom-made retreats, mission trips, presentations, and pilgrimages.
With Franciscan Passages, you will learn about the writings, relish reading them and ultimately, discern what they have to say to you in your life, today.
Franciscan Passages is led by a very involved board of directors. Teaching is by Julie McElmurry, M.S., M.A.. Taught by some of the finest Franciscan scholars in the field today, Julie earned the Master of Arts in Franciscan Studies degree in 2009.
Where We Travel
We are based in a small town within the Diocese of Charlotte, NC. We travel wherever we are invited. Since 2011, we have travelled to New York, Ohio, West Virginia, Washington, DC, South Carolina, Florida, Delaware, Maryland and around North Carolina to give presentations and lead custom-built retreats. In March, 2013 we traveled to Farm of the Child in Honduras to offer six retreats in Spanish. We will go wherever in the world we are invited.
