What We Do

Franciscan Passages is a 501(c)3 non-profit entity dedicated entirely to teaching people (of all ages and backgrounds) about St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare of Assisi.

Their own writings and those of their companions and followers are the basis of our teaching.

We lead overnight retreats, workshops, presentations, pilgrimages to Italy, alternative spring break trips and more, all with a focus on our rich shared spiritual heritage found in Francis and Clare.

Franciscan Passages is led by a very involved board of directors. Teaching is done by:

Julie McElmurry

A graduate of The Franciscan Institute at St. Bonaventure University, Julie has been taught by some of the finest Franciscan scholars in the field today. She earned the Master of Arts in Franciscan Studies degree in 2009.

Purpose

The purpose of Franciscan Passages is to guide you through the prayers, poetry, letters, Testaments, and Rules of Life written by Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi and their followers. We will encounter them through reading their words.

When we learn about the lives of holy men and women, we are inspired to live in greater holiness.
